Four games were played on Wednesday night in the BCHL.
Two games were played in the Vancouver Island. In the Coastal Conference, the Nanaimo Clippers hosted and defeated the Surrey Eagles by a score of 6-1 at the Frank Crane Arena. The Clippers are leading the Coastal conference 9 points ahead of the Grizzlies, who have four games in hand.
Meanwhile, one hour away from Nanaimo in Port Alberni, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs lost 4-6 to the Vernon Vipers. Vernon is trailing the Penticton Vees, who also won last night, in the Interior Division.
In other games, the Cowichan Valley Capitals visited the mainland to play the Langley Chiefs. Luke Cain and Craig Parkinson each scored twice to help the visitors to a 5-2 win. With this result, the Caps solidify their position as third place in the Coastal Division, Langley is fourth and is now 7 points behind Cowichan.
In Kelowna, the BCHL overall standings leaders, the Penticton Vees spearheaded by a 4 points effort by Evan Trupp, soundly defeated the Westside Warriors 7-1.
In today's games, the Merritt Centennials will host the Spruce Kings in the Nicola Valley Arena. Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Wade MacLeod, the deadly Merritt duo who are both tied for second in the BCHL with 32 goals each, behind Jamie Benn of the Victoria Grizzlies who has 34, will try to help the Centennials snap a three game losing streak. And in Port Alberni, Tyler Bozak, who is leading the league in points with 81, will try to lead his Victoria Grizzlies to a win over the Bulldogs.
